Restaurering

These first three pictures show how our 912 looked like when we had it delivered from Germany in November 1998.

At that time the 912 was painted in a dark grey colour (probably not an original Porsche colour). The paint job was not too good as the surface in some places showed dust particles.

The only rust to be seen was located on the left front wing/fender at the bottom right next to the door and at the edges of the rear wings/fenders.

The interior was in quite good condition except from the carpets.

The following four pictures show our 912 during the restoration process.

Our Porsche 912 was restored in the years 1999-2002 by Peter Iversen at his classic-Porsche workshop in Aalborg, Denmark. Please confer http://www.porsche-classic.dk

The car was stripped to bare metal in order to determine the body condition as far as rust is concerned. As you can see on the picture all of the wings/fenders were removed - three new ones were fitted.

Some bodywork was done on the inner wings/fenders, the sills/body rockers, and the floor in the front part of the luggage compartment.

After this treatment our 912 stood "naked" with NO FILLER at all, just waiting for a champagne yellow top coating.

In Autumn '00 our 912 was painted. A completely new set of carpets were made and a new headliner was fitted. After that the assembling took place - i.e. windows, rubber strips, bumpers, seats etc. etc.
